The Village of New Maryland is pleased to announce the completion and adoption of the Village’s first Recreation Trails and Bikeways Master Plan. The New Maryland Council formally adopted the plan during the formal Council Meeting held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
The New Maryland Trails and Bikeways Master Plan was developed with the objective of establishing an active transportation network of off-road and on-road trails that can be used all seasons by residents and visitors to safely recreate and commute within the village and to adjacent communities. The Village first embarked on the journey of creating a Trails and Bikeways Master Plan in May 2011 followed by a public input session on August 9, 2011.
The Village would like to thank our consultant Larry Stewart of BDA Landscape Architects and Cynthia Stacey of the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Kinesiology, for their time, effort and expertise in making the completion of the plan possible. Another special thank you is given to the residents who provided valuable input and insight during the consultation and public input sessions.
