STAY SAFE Course Scheduled – Friday, December 5th
We’re pleased to announce that a STAY SAFE course has been scheduled for Friday, December 5th!
This engaging and practical program helps youth develop the skills and confidence to stay safe while on their own, at home, and in the community.
Course Content Includes:
Personal Safety and Responsibility

The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself

Setting and following safety rules when staying on your own
-
How to stay safe at home and within the community
-
Preparing for and responding to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, or unanticipated visits)
First Aid Content
-
Check, Call, Care: Includes when and how to phone EMS/911
-
Recovery position
-
Conscious choking: Adult, child, and when alone
-
Feeling unwell and asthma management (includes use of an inhaler and spacer)
-
Anaphylaxis: Includes use of an EpiPen
-
Poisoning and insect stings
-
Wound care: Minor cuts and scrapes, splinters, nosebleeds, bumps and bruises, life-threatening bleeding, and burns
Course which will be held on Friday, Dec 5th at Victoria Hall. Cost is $60 per child and the registration form can be filled out online and e-mailed to kelsey.embleton@vonm.ca. Once received, she will contact you regarding payment options including e-transfer. Course is limited to 20 participants. For more information click here.

Registrations open Monday May 12th at 8:30am for Village Residents and May 13th for everyone. Applications will not be accepted prior to May 12th at 8:30am. Please send completed applications to daycampsupervisor@vonm.ca.
