As we approach summer, the desire to light an outdoor fire becomes more common.
Before lighting a fire in New Maryland, it is very important to:
– Have an annual Burn Permit that was issues by the Fire Chief.
– Always check the burning conditions by calling 1-866-458-8080 or visit www.gnb.ca/Firewatch.
Burning conditions are updated every day at 2pm.
🔴 RED – No burning at all
🟡 YELLOW – Restricted burning only- allowed 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
🟢 GREEN – Burning permitted
Many outdoor fires in New Maryland are prohibited, including but not limited to those:
– in non-compliant fire pits.
– burning general, garden, or yard waste.
For fire emergencies call 911 immediately.
