Forest fire season officially began on April 1, 2026. The Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (DNRED) is reminding all municipalities and residents to follow provincial burn regulations throughout the season, including those who hold valid outdoor fire pit permits.
Before starting any fire, please check the daily burn conditions:
RED – No burning at all
YELLOW – Restricted burning
Only allowed 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
GREEN – Burning permitted
Burning conditions are updated daily at 2:00 p.m. and may change depending on weather and environmental factors.
