Today, the Village of New Maryland proudly joins communities across Canada in recognizing Pink Shirt Day.
Pink Shirt Day began in Berwick when students stood up for a classmate who was being bullied. Their simple act of wearing pink sparked a movement that continues to remind us of the power of kindness, respect, and inclusion.
Our staff are wearing pink today to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to fostering a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported. Bullying has no place in New Maryland, and together we can continue to promote a culture of compassion and respect.
The Village also extends its thanks to CAO Cynthia Geldart, who is not pictured as she was behind the camera capturing this moment.
