Provincial Fire Update

There are still 18 active fires burning in the province with 3 of those out of control. The fire index is considered “extreme” for Sunday. Trails remain closed and Crown lands remain closed other than to a few industries of the forestry sector with specific activities and they require permits and to have specific mitigation factors in place. Firefighters have been battling blazes for 2 weeks now and are exhausted. We remind residents to be cautious and diligent and patient while our firefighters and first responders work to keep people and property safe. – alh
