Village of New Maryland Welcomes Newly Elected Mayor and Council

The Village of New Maryland is pleased to announce that our newly elected Mayor and Village Council have officially been sworn into office following a ceremony on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Mayor Alex Scholten as he steps into his new role leading our community, having previously served as a Village Councillor. An enthusiastic welcome is also extended to our incoming Councillor, Steve Clements, as he begins his term of service. Joining them are Deputy Mayor Scammell and returning Councillors Pearson, Pope, and van Groenewoud, who continue their dedicated service to our community.

Our Council members are deeply committed to community service, municipal leadership, and ensuring New Maryland remains a vibrant, safe, and welcoming place to live, work, and grow.
